Akbar remained illiterate and uneducated all his life. He had to occupy the throne at the early age of 13 years after the untimely death of his father Humayun.
After the death of Achyuta Deva Raya, the succession was disputed. His son, Venkata I also called as Venkata Raya or Venkatadri Raya, succeeded him, but he was a weak ruler and was killed six months later.
Darya was succeeded by Burhan Imad Shah. He ruled from 1562 to 74 CE. He mostly remained aloof even after joiningthe confederacy against Vijayanagar with the other Deccani sultanates which caused great dissatisfaction among them.
In the aministartion od Shivaji the Surnavis or Chitnis or Sachiv was the general secretary who also overlooked official correspondence, Sumant/Dabir was the master of ceremonies and foreign affairs, Nyayadish was appointed for Justice and Pandit Rao looked over charities and ecclesiastical affairs.
