Around 60% of the natural gas produced in India is used for Energy purpose. Out of this, maximum amount is used in Power Generation, followed by Industrial Fuel and LPG use. In Non-energy purposes, Maximum amount of Natural Gas is used in India in Fertilizer Industry. Coal is the most economical fuel for meeting base load demand.
The main reason of the dispersed settlement are Mountainous or heavy forested area, Poor soil fertility, Adverse climatic region, Less availability of arable land.
