Mahagujarat movement or Mahagujarat Andolan was based around the demand of creation of separate state of Gujarat for Gujarati-speaking people from the Bombay state in 1956. The result of this movement was creation of two states on linguistic basis viz. Gujarat and Maharashtra. Indulal Yagnik was leader of this movement.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place on 13 April 1919. The Acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire into the unarmed crowd. A total number of 379 people died and over 1,000 people injured.
