The government of India has contributed USD 800,000 to the United Nations(UN) as part of the initiative which aims to enhance public outreach of the organisation in Hindi.
Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner by the President of India. He will take charge of the office.
It is being celebrated on May 8 to spread awareness about thalassaemia being a blood disorder, myths related to the disease, and to help the patients lead a normal life.
