The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has launched an agroecology-based programme called 'JIVA' (meaning life) to promote natural farming, ensure sustainability and rejuvenate 'life' around the agricultural field.
Centre has appointed JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) Vice-Chancellor, M Jagadesh Kumar as the new Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The scheme has provided benefits to about 11.78 Crore farmers and funds amounting to Rs 1.82 lakh crore in various instalments have been released to the eligible beneficiaries.
