Eyjafjallajökull is one of the smaller ice caps of Iceland. It is north of Skógar and west of Mýrdalsjökull. The ice cap covers the caldera of a volcano with a summit elevation of 1,651 metres.
Warm ocean currents raise the temperature in cold areas while the cold currents decrease the temperature in warm ocean areas.The Labrador current which is a cold current, lowers the temperature near the north-east coast of North America.
