Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh has launched India's first saline water lantern, 'Roshini', which uses seawater to power Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps.
The SSLV will carry EOS-02, an indigenously developed earth observation satellite, and Cubesat AzaadiSAT, which was developed by 750 school girls across 75 schools in rural India.
India is set to host diplomats of the 15-nation UN Security Council including the US, China and Russia, in October for a special meeting on counter-terrorism.
