Every year, Nelson Mandela International Day is celebrated on July 18th across the world to honour (birth anniversary) the legacy of the late President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. this day is also known as Mandela Day.
The new sites include three wetlands (Karikili Bird Sanctuary, Pallikaranai Marsh Reserve Forest and Pichavaram Mangrove) in Tamil Nadu, one (Pala wetland) in Mizoram and one wetland (Sakhya Sagar) in Madhya Pradesh.
