Sakatayana was a Jain writer of the 9th century A.D.He lived during the reign of Rashtrakuta ruler Amoghavarsha. He was the founder of a new school. His main work was Sabdansusana.
Fa Hien or Faxian who was a famous Chinese traveler, visited India during his reign of Chandragupta II. He came through land route and went back through sea route.
Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Mauryan empire. In Greek and Latin accounts he is also mentioned as Sandrocuttos. It is believed that Chandragupta Maurya adopted Jainism and became an ascetic under the Jain saint Bhadrabahu.
