March 23 is being celebrated as Martyrs Day (also known as Shaheed Diwas or Sarvodaya Day) to commemorate the death anniversary of the freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru, who laid their lives for the freedom of India.
