Jalauddin Rumi who was a great Sufi mystic and poet, founded the Order of the Whirling Dervishes in the thirteenth century. He was born in Afghanistan in 1207 CE.
Each sarkar of Sher Shah Suri was divided into several parganas. Shiqdar (military officer), Amil (land revenue), Fotedar (treasurer), and Karkuns (accountants) were the officers in charge of the administration of each pargana.
Al Biruni was made court astrologer in Ghazni and he accompanied with Mahmud on his invasions on India. He lived for several years here and is considered to be first Indologist.
