The PMGSY is under the authority of the Ministry of Rural Development and was begun on 15 August 2000. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval for the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-I and II up to September 2022, for Rs 33,822 crore.
