Noted economist and historian Sanjeev Sanyal has been inducted as a full-time member in the reconstituted Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM).
Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar launched the Central Sector Scheme "SMILE: Support for Marginalised Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise".
The scheme has provided benefits to about 11.78 Crore farmers and funds amounting to Rs 1.82 lakh crore in various instalments have been released to the eligible beneficiaries.
