Baneshwar Festival is celebrated by the Bhils tribal people of Rajasthan (Dungarpur district), Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Mahadev (Shiva) and Kalki (Vishnu) are worshipped during the festival.
The city of Allahabad was originally known as Prayag in ancient times. The Union Home Ministry has approved the proposal of the Uttar Pradesh Government to rename Allahabad as Prayagraj. Akbar’s grandson Shah Jahan renamed the entire city as Allahabad.
