Jallianwala Bagh incident took place on 13th April, 1919. Rabindranath Tagore gave up his Knighthood. Gandhiji wrote in his “Young India” magazine that “This satanic government cannot be mended, it must be ended”. Martial Law was imposed in many parts of Punjab in the evening. All public movements were restricted.
