A week-long commemoration event titled Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate was launched by Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh and Union Minister of Culture G Kishan Reddy.
Indian men's hockey team goalkeeper, PR Sreejesh was named World Games Athlete of the Year 2021. He became the first Indian male athlete and second Indian sportsperson overall to win the honour.
