First Rajgir, Second vaishali, Third patliputraFourth Buddhist Council is the name of two separate Buddhist council meetings first in Sri Lanka and another at Sarvastivada school, in Kashmir around the First Century AD.
The sculptures pertaining to the period of c. 300 – 600 CE shows the introduction of new styles in the temple architecture. The inspiration for the themes for the sculpture was drawn from Hindu, Buddhist, and Jaina traditions.
Kushans were most probably one of the five branches of the Yuezhi confederation. Kujula Kadphises was the first Yuezhi chief and he laid the foundation of the Kushana Empire in India. He established his supremacy over Kabul, Kandahar, and Afghanistan.
