The second session of the Indian National Congress was held in 1886 in Calcutta. Dadabhai Naoroji was the president of the session. Indian National Congress and Indian Association merged in this session.
Women participated quite actively in the Indian national movement. They participated in the boycott of foreign goods, picketing of liquor shops, non-payment of taxes, and so on. All of the above movements drew women out from the seclusion of home.
