After the death of Achyuta Deva Raya, the succession was disputed. His son, Venkata I also called as Venkata Raya or Venkatadri Raya, succeeded him, but he was a weak ruler and was killed six months later.
Sufism or mysticism emerged in the 8th century. Some of the early known Sufis are as follows: Rabia al-Adawiya, Al-Junaid, and Bayazid Bastami. Sufism evolved into a well-developed movement by the end of the 11th century.
Alauddin Alam Shah who ruled the Sayyid dynasty from 1443 CE to 1451 CE was the last ruler of the Sayyid dynasty. It is believed that Alam Shah’s Wazir, Hamid Khan, invited Bahlol Lodhi to take charge of the army which later founded the Lodhi dynasty.
