World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is being celebrated every year on 21 March to raise public awareness for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel started the Kaushalya Matritva Yojana by distributing checks of five thousand rupees to five beneficiaries for safe motherhood in the state-level women's conference organized at BTI Maidan in Raipur.
The first event under this celebration has been organized in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, which also marks International Women's Day.
