Chuar Uprising was started by aboriginal tribesmen of Midnapore district. The reason was famine, enhanced land revenue demands and economic distress. It lasted from 1766 to 1772 and again surfaced between 1759 and 1816.
The Pindaris (Also known as Scavengers of the Maratha) were the irregular horsemen during the time of Bajirao I. They settled in Malwa after the third battle of Panipat (1761).
Rahimtulla M. Sayani was “Second Muslim” to become the “President of Indian National Congress” after Badruddin taiyyabji. He was also a member of the Bombay Municipal Corporation and was the Sheriff of Bombay in 1885.
