World Heritage day is being celebrated every year on 18 April to preserve the human heritage and recognise the efforts of all the relevant organisations in the field.
The Advisory Committee will be chaired by the Union Minister of Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, while the Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Rajeev Chandrashekhar will be the Vice-Chairperson.
The famous living root bridges found in the northeastern state of Meghalaya, have been included on the tentative list of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
