Chuar Uprising was started by aboriginal tribesmen of Midnapore district. The reason was famine, enhanced land revenue demands and economic distress. It lasted from 1766 to 1772 and again surfaced between 1759 and 1816.
With the observance of the All India Flag Day on June 18, 1923, the Jhanda Satyagraha assumed national complexion with Nagpur as its headquarters and “Nagpur Chalo” as its slogan.
Brahmo samaj was started by Raja Ram Mohan Roy in 1828.It was open to members from all caste to worship Brahma.It denied the authority of vedas and does not permitted idol or image worship.It permitted worship only through prayers,meditation and readings from upanishads.
