Ashoka’s Dhamma emphasised on non-violence and mutual respect. It encompassed a social and intellectual code of ethics. It focused on primacy of ethical behaviour and the recognition of the dignity of human life.
Viharas were for the purpose of living, Chaityas were assemblies for the purpose of discussions. Further, Chaityas were with Stupas, Viharas did not have stupas.
According to the Chera poets, Senguttuvan was their greatest king. He is also known as the Red or Good Chera. He led many successful military expeditions. He has also been mentioned in the post-Sangam text, Silappadikaram.
