British India Coins which were minted from 1862 CE to 1947 CE were stuck under the authority of the crown. The new coins which were minted under the Coinage Act, 1835 had the effigy of William IV on the obverse and the value on the reverse in English and Persian.
During the time of Lord Hastings, the Bengal Tenancy Act was passed in the year 1822. As per the act, the tenant enjoyed the hereditary right over the land with payment of rent.
