The Supreme Court accepts Banthia Commission report paving way for reservation for OBCs in Local Body Elections in Maharashtra. The Supreme Court has accepted the report of the Banthia Commission and directed the Maharashtra State Election Commission to hold elections as per the report.
The measures include easing norms for FPI investment in the debt market, and increasing the External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) limit under the automatic route from USD750 million or its equivalent per financial year to USD 1.5 billion.
