The Kushanas were also called as Guishuang as mentioned by various Chinese texts. Kushanas were also known as Tocharians and were one of the five tribes of Yueh-Chi or Yuezhi.
The third Sangam was held at the present Madurai in Tamil Nadu. The third sangam had 449 poets and the important ones among them include Nakkirar, Iraiyanar, Kapilar, Paranar, Sattanar, Auvikyar etc.
The Ikshavakus rose in the Krishna-Guntur region on the ruins of Satvahanas. The Ikshavakus were a local tribe. They started the practice of land grants in the Krishna-Guntur region. They also built many monuments.
